Gnat problem

Recently got my beardie about 3 days ago and have noticed gnats starting to invade the tank. Started with a few and everyday I seem to find at least one more. I don't have a colony of any insects but do have two containers of calci worms in soil inside of a cabinet under the cage. I'm assuming that's where they come from. I don't keep fruits or veggies in the tank while I'm not home and do all my feeding outside the tank. Any recommendations on getting rid of the gnats and preventing this from getting worse?

I always hated these things! I used to get mine an awful lot with my snails. I found putting a glass of honey/syrup/sugar with vinegar jut outside the tank cleared them up to the amount that regular cleaning got rid of the rest :) I do now keep a small cup of the mixture outside the tanks in summer, and so far haven't had any more problems :)

I assume it'll work the same for yours, hopefully they're aren't pet specific gnats :D

It might also be work moving the calcium worms if possible? I not maybe inside a box inside the cabinet make it that bit harder lol :D

I feed Phoenix Worms/Calciworms as my staple feeder insect, and I buy them in bulk online, so I empty them into a 10 gallon tank and keep them in my basement. I've never had gnats from them, although I have often seen gnats in crickets I've gotten.

As already stated, if you keep even just a large dish of plain water outside of the tank, the gnats will be floating in them every morning, then just flush them and put new water out. They are often attracted to their lights.

I just walked into my room and instead of looking at me, Swordtail's eyes darted directly to the ice cream drumstick I'm holding
Finally replaced Swordtail's substrate
I miss you so much, Amaris 💔
What is a quick way to warm up a cold beardie? His heating element went out overnight and now he's very cold.
