So I’ve just recently adopted a 1 year + some odd month old beardy, and he’s been settling in ok, until a couple days ago, when he started glass surfing like crazy, for no reason, out of the blue. He hasn’t had any stress marks on him, and yet his poop has become runny, and he’s been pooping multiple times a day. His diet (collard and dandelion greens, carrots, and bell peppers) has remained exactly the same. I didn’t change anything in his tank until he started glass surfing, but he’s just not stopped. I tried to put wrapping paper on the inside of his enclosure in case it’s his reflection doing it, and he freaked out probably even more than before. I don’t understand what the issue is, but I really don’t want him to hurt himself by doing this all the time.
Sounds like he is shy of your hand- he needs to get used to you going into his tank - how much have you handled him? Once he gets used to you the running away will, stop and so will the puffing of beard-

He’s started being a lot more ok with me handling him, but he still glass surfs a lot, and constantly tries to run away from me and hide when I get him out of his tank. In the morning he glass surfs to wake me up for breakfast, and I’m assuming that throughout the day he just wants to run around, but I constantly have to monitor him because he just wants to try to hide in small spaces that I can’t get him out of. His poops have been bad too, so I’m not sure if he’s still stressed or what. I’ve had him for about 3 weeks
He will eventually calm down- just keep spending time w/ him and handling him- usually the glass surfing stops after they have been out of their tank for awhile - you might want to consider getting a bigger tank -
