But it was suggested to me by you lovely people here that I get rid of the sand in my tank and use the reptile carpet I had instead, which is what I spent this morning doing. (cleaning it out, and putting the carpet in, etc.)
Skywalker pooped, and when I came back to my room and found it... oO it appears as though there's particles of that yellow-ish calcium sand that *was* in the terrarium, stuck to part of the urate!
It's hard to tell in the photos, I guess. But that's not a solid thing of yellow. It's little yellow grains of what appear to be sand stuck to the white. Odd, isn't it?
Otherwise the poop looks quite healthy! I'm sure the switch will make things much easier to clean and sanitize and be a big improvement overall. If you find that the carpet starts to fray with frequent washing you can also use non adhesive shelf liner or tile, or even vinyl flooring or fleece.
