I think that supers would be fine, just be careful no to overdo it ya know. And crickets don't have to be the staple in their diet. Personally I would keep him and just wait. He seems like he is getting a good life, and once you give him away, you aren't getting him back. something that you really could regret.
Teri know if I give him away I will prob regret it, I have brought some seeds to start a mini garden so hopefully it all works out
With the lobster roaches, I heard that they are called 'woodies' over here, which we sell at our local pet-shop maybe I could get some and test them out, apparently they breed fast (which is good for me)
EDIT: I have been reading about supers, apparently there not really safe? And you can only feed like 2-3 a day, is this right??? Should I still buy them, they are very expensive so I don't want to waste money if not needed...
Oh & about the lobster roaches, can they be a main food (instead of crickets) as I have found some of them, nice and cheap and I might be able to breed them easier!!!
I use supers and Lobsters aka woodies as staples for mine. Lobsters breed really easy, i just chcuck in some dog food, an orange quarter or two a week en split carrots every 2 days. Keep them nice and dark & warm and theyre worse than rabbits.
The only drawback is they can climb, but got that sorted with a vaseline strip at the top of the bin, since Feb so far NO ESCAPEES
You can also plant carrots if you have a small flower bed somewhere or big enough pot. The tops i feed to my dragon and the carrots to the roaches and superworms.........so even feeders food is free now
Hey, thanks for the worm chart
I've been searching for Supers and i may have found a good site that sells them, they seem trust-worthy, i just need to see if they ship here (Fingers crossed
I have just been on http://www.herpshop.com.au, they sell super worms and roaches, just wondering if the supers are correct??? Lol I don't know a thing about supers so I just wanted to check before I buy, thanks!

As long as your dragon is over 16" they are fine as a staple!! Breeders all over here use them for a staple.. also, you can get mediums and they are smaller than the full grown ones if you are nervous about it. I feed all my adults supers, and they are fine. It's mealworms you don't want to use as a feeder.
I agree with the super worms you can buy them in bulk online. You could start a roach colony I got rid of mine I only had one beardie who would eat them . I also like butter worms.
Thanks everybody, for your comments!!!! I have purchased some woodies, they are crazy & fast little things, haha... They are also really good climbers!!! I have them in a big plastic tub with calcium dust over them (slow em' down ) Haven't fed em to charlie yet, soon!
I have been thinking, and I think I might keep Charlie for a couple of months while I get my veggie garden going & roaches breeding!!! After that I will make up my mind,
Don't go to the store to buy your feeders...buy online it is so much cheaper. I just bought 1,000 crickets for 27 altogether and that included the price which was 15 and shipping which was 12 and that your beardie shouldn't be going through as much as a baby or subadult should anyhow.
I'm a university student with 9-5 lectures and exams/essays/coursework on top of that. I am incredibly busy and struggling financially with my student loan but if you love the little guy it's just the sacrifice you make.
I'm sure you can do it. Cut back financially in other areas, try breeding etc. Maybe write up a little timetable for when you can work and when you can clean/feed him.
Hey Daracotton, thanks for the timetable idea, I think I will go write one up in a minute!!! Yer I am thinking of keeping him, I do love him & could not imagine my life without him
