Hey everyone, my girl has been super lethargic and sleepy. She has been going to bed earlier and earlier. I posted in another group and they immediately directed to some brumating articles. My girl is going to sleep after only 5-6 hours awake. Once she starts to burrow, I turn her lights off. My main concern is her stomach. She has always had digestive issues - I have to put her in the tub *every* time she has to poop (still love her tho). Anyway, I was reading that one important thing to do before the hibernation cycle is to make sure they poop so what is in their tummy's don't rot. So I guess I will ask...
At what point should I stop feeding her? Best ways of getting her tummy empty without starving her? It was very slow, but now she only is awake about half a day, so I know it's coming soon!! I've never gone through a brumation, and she is an old girl at 6-7 so of course I am very worried dragon mom. Thanks guys!!!
Hi there, when was her last meal and is she a good weight ? Just hold off on the food and give her an extra warm 5-10 minute soak once a week until she poo's. After that you're good. No food after that , just water dripped on her snout about every 10 days to allow her to drink if she's awake [ tuck awadded paper towel under her chin to catch excess water ] If you soak her, pat her dry + put her under the basking light for at least an hour.
