I am just about ready for my first BD. I need to order in the feeders. In addition to dubia roaches and phoenix worms I'll be getting him some crickets. I know they can jump, and I want to minimize the number of possible escapees, so I'm wondering what depth of container I should use to store them in? Anyone have any suggestions on that front?
LOL....mine isn't tall enough!
Some people use garbage cans without a lid, I would look for the taller of the bins (approx. 20"+ high) My bin is about 13" high, but when I go to dump small egg crates of crix into a cup of calcium, some jump the opposite way and find the loophole to "freedom". They also get onto my aluminum mesh screen from the egg crates, which they can chew through! I like the transparent bins so I can see when it needs cleaning without moving all the egg crates around, but I would recommend a bin a bit taller.
