How long after they mate is it befor the female lays her eggs? And everytime the male mounts her he just lets go of her neck and lets her walk away.

If he mounts, and then lets go they have not successfully breed... But once he does breed her it's usually 2-3 weeks, but some times longer. But I've averaged right in the 2-3 week period...

2 to 3 weeks, that being said I had one go 6 weeks last month.
