Hello all,
My girl friend and I recently purchased our first bearded dragon a few weeks ago. We were told when we first got him/her (around 8 inches long) that it was to soon to tell what the gender was. However after looking online I noticed some websites state that you can tell the gender as early as 6-8 inches in size. Our little guy/girl is now a little over 10inches long and we are still unable to tell. When we lift the tail there are no bumps at all. Does this mean it's a female or could it still be to early to know for sure? Also I thought I would add that we have tried the flash light method to see completely through our baby's genital area and there is absolutely nothing there. Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated. We are eager to finally know if our baby is a boy or a girl. Thanks so much in advance!
Post a few pics here with the tail arched up while he's flat on a table. Pics from straight on and also slightly from the side. The flashlight doesn't usually work with little ones.
That's a bit tricky because the stress marks [ little grey dashes + markings ] create what looks like indentation , but I'm leaning towards female. Sorry I couldn't be more help.....it may change in a month and look different, so try again in about a month.
