so.. updates (Sorry.. it's been crazy here.
Aug 20th:
SO! she's finally been to the vet, she got x-rays etc. Turns out that she has 4 impactions! She is slowly getting them out, and fortunately we were able to prevent internal bleeding and ruptures *phew!* The vet gave her a gecko-enema and said that she should pass this on her own, but since it is the WORST impaction he's ever personally seen, he thinks she may still need surgery. The only vet who does this kind of surgery for impactions this intense is about 3 hours away. I hope it doesn't go that far, but you never know.
Once I get the x-rays scanned, I'll post them
hooray for Bruiser, the little crippled trooper!
Aug 23rd:
we went back to the vet because she still hasn't passed anything more than a few crumbles. She's been eating dubias, but I've had to blend and syringe them first. The vet took more X-rays and "referred" me to the vet (3 hours away) for surgery. We called THEM, to schedule a surgery. The vet has no openings until the 31st, but they will call us if any time opens up.
Is it just me, or do the vets out here seem less than concerned about emergency situations?!
Aug 29th:
Bruiser passed away yesterday

What really sucks, is she managed to pass one of the impactions beforehand. I'm so sad for her! I know, she's better off now but still...
details:
When we checked on her yesterday morning, It looked like one of the impactions had expanded. (to the point that there was an obvious protrusion in her belly. perhaps one of the others caught up to a particularly large one and just became one really big one?) I got on the phone with the vet to tell them she was on her way to be seen- phone in one hand, bruiser in the other (remember the vet we've actually been seeing is 45 mins away- long drive to not be seen) and before the phone call was over, she passed.
poor little thing,
we got a couple of pictures of her early on, I will post them when I can.
