I have a crested gecko egg. Just thought I'd share that. I think I got this one in time and it didn't dehydrate..she dropped it in the water dish, since it was half above water it *should* still be fine. It's now in a bowl and we'll see what happens in 45 days 8)
I'll try to get some new a better photos since the female was cloudy in the last batch with a shed coming. Female is a dark color. Should be interesting if it hatches what it might look like.
Does anyone know what diet the hatchling should get? I've been told they should be fed bugs when first born rather than just CGD, but I am not sure. I know I can get very small crickets from twin city reptile and fruitflys from petco.
I've had a baby that would never ever eat his cgd, and after a few weeks I started giving a bit of extra live food(baby dubia roaches). After I started feeding the live food he started growing like a weed and he went crazy for the bugs  I've also had a baby that I bought that went straight into cgd, and never liked live food. The weirdo eats more cgd than any one of my adults! lol
neither of my adults would take a roach, even when held to their snout. They;d get pissed and bit it in half but the rest would get spit out. I tried roaches of all sizes. They'd eat crickets though. That's what I was feeding them till I figured out the eat the cgd dry, since then no bugs.
Just thought I'd update. This past weekend the egg hatched. Baby is still alive, so apparently it is ok. Been keeping it in a cricket keeper on my night stand and it seems to be eating (or I am sure it wouldn't have lasted a week) and from the looks of things I've got fire for sure, maybe harley..but I guess they can change as they get older so we'll hafta see what traits it gets from it's parents.
