You run the risk of: if the bulb is close enough for adequate uvb it's to hot : if the bulb is far enough to not be to hot, uvb may be inadequate. Also it only projects uvb in a fairly narrow cone. It's much easier to use the tube type uvb (the exposure is a much larger area) and and regular basking bulb, you can arrange that setup so you have basking and uvb overlap which is idea. [/QUOTE]
