Hi there, i have bought my bearded dragon some fruit beetle grubs as i had heard they are a good treat for them. when i recieved them i noticed they are bigger then expected. My beardy is about14/15inches and about 7 months old, eating well on dubia roaches, would he be safe eating these grubs? Wanting to have an idea before i feed any to him, last thing i want to do is impact him.
I don't know much about them but from what I'm reading they appear to be good only as a treat as you mentioned. He is pretty big so should be able to chew them up, especially if they are soft. I wouldn't offer more than one or two in a sitting though.
Thanks for the reply,
yeah from what im reading about them im planning on something like 2/3 a month as a treat for him to enjoy. gave him one last night and he seemed to be fine with it.
i did some more research online about them, he loved his 1 he got last night, was trying to get at the pot of them lol. Bit nasty things though, they bite badly apparently and people say to crush/cut off their heads. i can confirm their heads are very hard and the fangs are quite large, i crushed the head so it could not bite him. Defo not for the squeemish
