anybody know where to find anything like that, im not sure if they clip on or tape on or what but im looking for a reflector or diffuser or whatever you want to call it, was reading an article saying that you can double the uvb output of your bulb by doing this. my fixture does not have a built in like many of the bigger 4 foot fixtures do. i could use a piece of aluminum foil but thats kind of cheesy but it said that will also increase the output, since 3/4 of the light is facing glass and plastic fixture the shield keeps those materials from soaking the rays and diverting them down to where your beardie will be basking.. so if anybody knows where to find these or what exactly they are called please let me know, i have been looking on google but cant seem to find what im looking for. thanx
if anybody is interested in what im talking about here is a link, they discuss the use of the reflector and give some charts to show the results, plus some more helpful lighting information
There are some flourescent light fixture that you can get from Lowes or Home Depot that have reflective backing already built into the fixture. You can use mylar photo paper or flashing yes, for reflective properties if your light fixture doesn't have reflective properties. I would not use foil because it gets crinkled & will not reflect light evenly once that happens.
Yes, it can double the UVB output of your UVB light. Make sure if you do that, the light is placed at a safe distance & that you have the bright white basking light placed directly beside the UVB tube bulb for eye protection.
alright thank you for the mylar paper and the flashing, ill look into that, i see on the site they have one that clips on as they say, i looked all over for something like that i must be brain dead cuz i didnt find anything like that,
