It was a reptile carpet until they were diagnosed with pinworms. Got rid of that and am using a few layers of paper towels until I get something else.

Strange that the floor is getting so hot w/ paper towels -- the textured NON adhesive shelf liner should not get that hot - I have not heard of anyone complaining about it getting too hot

Well, I don't think it getting too hot with the paper towels, but without it, my thermometer reads like 120 and I don't know why

Your could use a laminate flooring or vinyl plank flooring.

I got a non adhesive shelf liner off Amazon. It was 17 inches by like 235 inches for like 15$ so I was able to completely cover both of their tanks with one roll. It looks nice
