Floor Space vs Climbing Space

First off, I *will* be getting a Zen Habitat enclosure sometime in the fall or winter... so this post is a sort of filler between then and now. Is it more important for a dragon to have more floor space, or more climbing space? I've got a 40BR tank for Figment, and have always had one piece of wood he's enjoyed climbing on - though he spends more time hanging out on his "mountain" on the cool side of the tank.

Yesterday I added a piece of resin "wood" to his tank to give him more places to perch and bask on the warm side (he's been basking on the tile floor up to now). He wants nothing to do with the added climbing space and has actually spent most of today inside his cave (which he almost never does). Maybe he's just needing time to get accustomed to the new furnishings?

At any rate, with the two pieces of decor in place - wood and resin - the floor space is much diminished, though he can still get under the pieces to walk around if he wants to. My question is this... since it is the minimum sized cage for an adult beardie, should I give him more space for walking around and lying on the tile or more space for climbing? Or does it depend on my dragon's preferences?

Here's a shot of the tank as it's set up now.

The only thing I can tell you is get it set up and you want both --- if it looks like its too cluttered then adjust accordingly -- I have a lot of decor pieces in my tank but still have room for them to get around in - look at the pics of my tanks I sent you and go from there

The basking side of my tank isn't getting up to the suggested 100degrees. Does that mean I need to get a new basking light?
does her poop look healthy?
In your perspective does my baby bearded dragon look healthy or unhealthy? Does she look bloated? she is active and eats very well also she is in her basking spot all day
