When is it a good time to start introducing your Beardie to the outdoors/letting it roam on its own? I've never owned Beardies before, and I'm wondering if they know better than to get stuck under/inside things like couches and vents. I know you don't just put them on the floor and leave them alone for hours, but I'm wondering when you guys started letting them roam. Mine are still juveniles and are QUICK. I'm too scared to bring them outdoors or set them down without blocking their way. Any answers? :?
I don't think that letting them roam wild in the house is a very good idea. They like to get into cracks and hide. They will hide in the couch, under the refrigerator, anywhere. I have a room that has nothing in it so I let my BD run around i there but not unsupervised in the house. Juvies are really fast as you said so be very careful. When I take my BD outside I have a little plastic kid pool and I put him in it. I can watch him and there is less chance of him running for the hills. Good luck and I hope that you can get some info that helps.
I would say it's fine to let them walk around in your house as long as you keep an eye on them and places that they could hide or things they could put in their mouths. Outside however, I would wait till adulthood and use a leash.
I wouldn't let them run around inside but my friend who is an owner and breeder was told by his vet that if you take them outside, take a t shirt with you. If they decide to run, you can toss the shirt over them to stop them and it won't hurt them. Just hope that they won't run. Haha
