Yesterday was first "gotcha day "*
One year has passed since this little lizard-like creature came home, was clinging to the wall of a cardboard box and not daring to come out.
In the meanwhile:
- Taco grew into a kind of introvert, but very curious dragon
- Taco grew to almost 500 g
- Taco went through his first brumation
- Taco learned how to wear a harness
- Taco changed his coloration a lot
- husband is not longer afraid of insects and even hand-feeds (hand, no tweezers; cleans out dubia/ worm bins too which is a lot for somebody who even feared caterpillars outdoors)
- husband is not longer afraid of reptiles (really, he was! all kind of "has no fur, no feathers and also isn't a fish = not good") but uses terms like cute, snuggly, beautiful
- husband thinks that having a reptile as a pet is not anything inferior (yes! convinced! no "just a reptile")
- me, despite starting with good knowledge (general interest in reptiles plus previous reptiles plus reading here), also learned lots of things here (thanks! )
*some count it like "first gotcha day is when the pet came home, after a year is second etc."
I prefer to count it like birthdays: birthday is the day somebody's born, first birthday is a year after somebody was born, or anniversary, first is a year after something important happened. So gotcha day when I got him, first gotcha day now.
