I came home to my 20 month female with this surprise.
She's always been a big girl but this is her first clutch, 38 infertile eggs and counting.
My question is how long do I wait to intro her to my male?
And NO, I couldn't feel or see eggs along her sides. She was just too hard; but she's always been
that way.
Wow that is a huge clutch.
Give her a week or so to recover before trying to let her mate.
Load her up with extra calcium for a couple weeks also, she will be depleted. Make sure she is getting a multivitamin a couple times per week also.
Will do, she finished with 39 eggs... one more popped out after posting.
That's a lot of eggs for the first clutch.
Contracted the breeder I purchased, said she will be one hell of a breeder
with that many eggs on her first run.
Wow, that is a very large first clutch! I would definitely not overbreed, it will zap her calcium stores.
I agree, give her some time to recover before breeding her. You could get her started on some liquid
calcium to help her calcium stores recover more quickly.
Giving her a month to recover bombing her with calcium and vitamins.
She's a real good eater so calcium powder no problem.
Thanks for advice all,
Jabda
Ok, that's great to hear then, that you are able to get
enough powder on her foods since she is eating well.
I hope she is doing good right now!
A month should be pretty good for recovery, bless her.
