When I bought my beardie I was told he was a male, and was about a month old. The other day he turned 2 months old, and I decided to check under his tail, to see if there was any emerging bumps to see if he actually could be a male. I didn't see any formation of hemipenal bulges, however, I did notice that he had some femoral pores.
Online, it says that femoral pores aren't visible until at least 5 months of age.
Could it be possible that my beardie is actually older than they told me at the store?
He is only 9 inches and 32 grams, so how could it be possible that he already has femoral pores?
Well you can see tiny pin-prick sized looking ones at a certain age. Can you post a few pics with his tail arched in the air while he is flat on your hand or on a table ? Hold the tail like this [ scroll down for pics :
