I just wanted to clear a few things up. My beardie is soon to be 12 months old, and I can’t find a reliable source of information as to how often I should feed him. Many websites say you should switch to mostly veggies at 8 months of age with feedings every other day, though I know that to be false. Other websites say 12-18 Months still need 3 feedings a day. I have been feeding my 11 mo two live insect feedings a day, leaving a veggie bowl with a variety of veggies a day (replacing it as needed). He is growing at a healthy rate, staying at a healthy weight. I was just wondering when I should start to transition him to one feeding a day and more veggies. I trust this website!
He needs salads every day as they transition over to the 80% veggies 20% bugs at a year it is suggested to feed bugs 2-3 times per week - I would offer salads every morning and feed insects in the afternoon - worms can be added to his salad in the morning - super worms horn worms meal worms butter worms 1-3 worms -- it will balance out his diet - if he is still hungry it is good to offer more salad -- make sure hes got 2-3 hrs of basking time before lights off
