It is important to feed the right size food at every stage of the pet's life. That is why I prefer dubias (and run a website that sells them) because they are softer bodied that the popular pet store option crickets, and they grow slowly so you can buy them in bulk and feed them over time without worrying about them getting too large. They also have a ton of nutritional advantages over crickets, but are cheaper than a lot of the other options out there.
If you are interested in dubias you should check out the information at my website discountdubias.com
Yeah if he can't get in contact with the bulb unlikely to be a burn. It does sound weird that one half is different colour though, haven't heard of that before. Keep an eye on it if it gets worse but hopefully if not causing discomfort then should be OK
So I bought 25 super worms from pet supplies plus and dropped three in the tank. He snatched them up quick as anything and then wanted more. I told him no because I needed to see how he could take it. The first time he pooped after eating them was a little smaller then normal but there was poop at least. I bought a can of 25 and he has now eaten the whole can. Sense he hadn't pooped in a day or so I put him in the tub tonight before I started cleaning all the stuff in his cage. He pooped what I would call a pea sized poop and there was some urine. My concern yesterday is the urine had a very slight yellow color. My problem with this is I cannot get Buddy to take water off his nose. Today when I tried again he really let me know how much he hated it. I can get him to open his mouth so I was wondering if I did that could I take the eye dropper and drip one drop in his mouth or would that not be such a good idea? My other thing is I am concerned that he might be starting to get impacted. He is out of super worms and I was going to look into earthworms. The biggest problem is all the local places sell bait works for fish and I don't want it to cause a problem for him. Any thoughts?
I'd stay away from earthworms and definitely anything for bait. That's not "food grade" quality and can cause serious problems. For extra hydration, try ordering a small pack of hornworms. They are very thirst quenching and may do the trick.
Gotta get something today lol. Looks like if I ever go on vacation buddy is coming with me because everyone in the house keeps saying all kinds if random bugs.
