thanks, ive put in some oats (from a breakfast cereal) and the lettuce, they seem to like the lettuce but i dont think they like the oats too much ?
i had 14 originally, now 3 have shedded and 1 has died, but i dont know why one died ? or at least i think its dead, its hanging from a branch completely still, and has been for about 4 hours ?
Hmm, not sure you may want to be starting with a higher number though and if you can get the already advised products it's alot easier than just oats most are available in pet shops or supermarkets.
If you are keeping a small amount of crix, then you can use some commercially available cricket foods. They have a ground-up medly of junk in a plastic jar here to feed crix, plus you can buy already hydrated water crystals. There are also the Flukers Orange Cube food/water, but I don't know if those are available across the pond.
I wouldn't recommend buying the commercial stuff if you are keeping crix in bulk, though - it would wind up costing a fortune in the end.
i only keep around 250 crix at a time right now and the store mixture works for me. The cubes can get expensive but they cover the hydrating and food source. Probably the fruit, and homemade mixture would be the best route
