so what exactly is too fat? Lenny is around 8 months(i think i dk his exact birth date). He is just over 21 inches long, and 740 grams... He seems fat... he was on reptis as a staple but hes on supers for now, and no doubt in my mind they contributed...but is it something i need to worry about? i hear mixed opinions about supers as staples, some say their bad, some say their safe... He has been starting to eat less of his worms, and less frequently, is it possible he is getting to the age where greens are becoming a bigger part of his diet. He typically eats all of his mustard greens daily. I dust calcium 5x a week, multi 2x. Reptisun 10.0, 40gb breeder, basking 105-110.
Well hes not skinny ........ but ive seen fatter.
Hes a BIG boy. My gorl is 19 inches and weighs 580
They look similar in build.......yours is longer thus the more weight looks fine
As for supers, mine eats supers and roaches as staples. I alter them, 1 day supers nxt day roaches.
Know a lot of ppl that feed ONLY supers and have dome so for years with no issues. But if you feel yours is gaining too much, try alternating feeders like i do
Mine started eating more salads at 9 months, so yes as long as the protein intake doesnt stop totally
He is a good sized dragon. I think he looks fine. At his age, he will naturally start decreasing his protein since he is eating more greens now. He should even out in weight, maybe even lean down a little bit with eating less protein.
He looks healthy though. We use supers as a staple, along with crickets, also.
i was thinking maybe going down to 10 supers a day, or 10 in the morning and 10 at night. At one point he was averaging 20-25 morning and same at night. the reason i wasn't sure if he was too fat, cuz well when he stands up his stomach touches the ground, and supposedly from quick reading around on here people say thats a no go.
i dk who is parents were so I do not know his bloodlines, however he is still growing in length, not rapidly but still growing. Part of me wonders if he potentially has some german giant?
