Hey there, I was on here just a few days ago for my beardie, I had gotten the wrong advice from petsmart and FINALLY with the help from this sight, got my beardie a proper set up with the right UVB light and temperatures.
I purchased a t8 UVB and fixture and set it up inside the cage.
However I was wondering if it was the UVB that is causing my beardie not to open his eyes or move or eat?
Or if it's something else? His basking spot is warm enough, and he has a cool side now (sigh I wasn't the best mother at the start but I'm learning quickly for my baby.)
Could it be any other reason?
Yeah dont pay attention to the people at petsmart, petco or most pet stores. They are not knowledgeable at all. Can you post a photo of your enclosure and setup? Can you also provide temperatures for basking and cooler side? Is your T8 UVB a 5.0 or 10.0 linear bulb?
Is closing eyes all the time or just while under basking light?
I purchased a 10.0 t8 reptisun linear tube. But i couldn't afford the hood, so I purchased a cheaper fxture, however I can't tell if the light emitting from the new UVB is right since it's so low compared to the old one. the old one is a 5.0 reptisun coiled light bulb. It was bright but everyone says it's terrible for my dragon, but the new one seems to not brighten even an inch in front of it. Is that right?
Also the tempereatures are 100 on the basking side and 80 on the cool side, Right now his set up isn't really proper since I've been trying to get him proper lighting fast, but the UVB bulb is my biggest issue.
the lastone isn't coil, I just forgot to change the label. it's the 10.0 linear t8 one.
