Hello, I just got an email from reptiles magazine, and they had a profile on exo Terra's new no corn food, and the bearded dragon food has GARLIC!!!! The beautiful dragons food sheet lists that as potentially toxic!! Do not feed this to your dragons, not that pellet food it that great anyway. Just wanted you guys to be in the know.
Here is the quote: "The primary ingredient in Exo Terra Soft Pellets is alfalfa. Alfalfa is rich in fiber, vitamins and minerals. It also has optimal calcium to phosphorus ratio. There are other natural key components of the diets, including antioxidants, appetite stimulants, and digestive aides to name a few. Some diets, like Bearded Dragon, use earthworm meal and lima beans as efficient protein sources. All of the diets contain aloe vera and garlic, which are booth known to help prevent illness."
They might process it in a way that destroys or neutralizes the toxic compounds or use it at very low concentrations. I think beautiful dragons lists it that way to be safe, there isn't much information other than dogs/cats to make a sound judgment on.
