Excavator top layer?

Hy. So, i ve just finished redecorating my beardie's enclosure with excavator clay. It s now 50-50 tile and excavator. It looks very natural, it changed the whole aspect of the enclosure but i ve read many reviews about it, one of which that in time it can get smelly or/and crack and crumble. I was wondering if there s any waterproof spray/layer of anything that you can put on top of it so that it keeps it s shape and won t absorb anything at all, but still keep it s realistic dirt look? Has anyone tried anything similar? I ve read something about acrylic sprays and stuff but i don t know if such products will harm my beardie. Thanks a lot!

I couldn’t tell you much about the spray or any of that but I’d love to see a picture because I had thought about doing the same thing at one point 50-50 just like you spoke of
