I've only ever been bitten by Mirage once. I had (foolishly and without realizing) painted my nails the same color as hornworms. He took one look at my fingers and.... Chomp. Wasn't a bad bite though. A little blood, but nothing some styptic powder and a band-aid can't fix. :D
That reminds me of an 'incident' at a pet store.
We had been there several times before with no issues. They have a huge free roaming tortious. Pn this day itcstarted stalking Christina around the store. It was a slow speed case, it reminded me of O.J. Simpson in the Bronco lol. I finally went and asked what was it's problem, it had never acted like that before.
She asked me if Christina was wearing open toed shoes? Yes. Are her nails painted? Yes. Are they blue? Yes. He thinks her toes are blue berries and that's his favorite treat.
I rolling, and Christina just wanted to leave lol.

Is it weird that Mirage detests fruit? He absolutely refuses to eat any fruit. However...he does really love corn and parsnips. He doesn't necessarily have a favorite food though, or at least not that I've found.
Most of the beardies I've had wouldn't eat fruit. Snickers and Zsa Zsa would eat blueberries, but otherwise none of the others would eat any kind of fruit.

I don't really like it when my sister does it. Poor Mirage looks at me like "Mom....what's she doing to me....help" However, she often gets what she deserves. When Mirage finally takes a stand and tells her he's done, he also takes a nice big poo on her. He then proceeds to look very pleased with himself and look at me like "Oh yeahhhhhh! Look what I did Mom! Look! I got payback! HAHA!"
Oh how I love Karma 😄😄😄

One of my birds hated red. Red fruits were thrown away, pushed out through the cage wire. Red things were pushed from tables. No idea why because it would have totally been fine feeding berries and such. We switched to fruits of other colors.
My mom used to paint her toe nails bright red at that time, and in summer propping her legs on a stool while reading. She got a few angry bird bites! Not the nibbling as for food, but the angry "put that away or I throw it away" kind of bird bites.

Ouch, poor momma. Bird bites suck.

Cockatiel. Liked to combine the angry bite with hissing and a scream.
But otherwise, that bird was a really great companion and one of the tamest. Imitating things he saw us do, without him teaching that. Like imitating talking in the phone: Raising one foot like for grabbing food, but not towards the beak but close to the ear. Head tilted towards the foot, then making chatty noises, after a few seconds stopping like listening for a response, some head movements like nodding, and continuing with chatty noises. Then after a while, foot down and also stopping the chatting. (Really like a "Ah hmm" - "Ah, ah okay, well" - "Ah, right good good" - "good then see you", but that in the language spoken at home, German.)
By that time, it was rather uncommon to take videos as the devices were rather expensive (we had no camcorder), so I don't have it on video. But that would be fun to show :D

They are cool birds for sure, I like watching them on youtube once in a while. My favorite one is when he is told he has to go to the vet and he goes ballistic.

The one in the youtube video (I guess I know which you mean) is an umbrella cockatoo.
Mine were cockatiels. They belong to the cockatoo family, but are the slimmer version:

I don't know birds that well lol. To me they are all cool but not something I want to keep.

Really loved them as a kid/teenager.
But nowadays I'd also say: No birds. Just would not be a good choice for us:
- The noise: We're living in an apartment, we partially work from home and need to concentrate (software development, engineering)
- The dust: My husband has mild eczema and had asthma as a kid. Also most of the cleaning would be on him, as I have a disability and just the scrubbing, carrying, wiping this, wiping that won't work well for me.
- Birds bond a lot, and they can get very upset, angry and jealous if their favorite person is absent often. I travel a lot work-related, or work shift.

So especially with knowing how it is to keep birds, really a bearded dragon is a much better choice for us. Despite I totally love birds (going into ornithology was a serious option for me). But I also totally love reptiles ;)

Oh my! My dad is a crazy bird man! Due to his extreme liking of birds I've gotten to know them very well! I can name over 100 types of birds lol
Wow that's impressive 😀
I can identify a bird as a bird lmao 🤣

a poem by AHBD (THANK YOU SO MUCH! I LOVE IT!)

Sir Henry the dragon
Looking for his dragon girl
Ventures out in to the wide world
His hopes are up but as you can see
There is no dragon girl for Sir Henry
A light bulb goes off and he takes mom aside
Could you perchance get me a mail order bride ?

Hey! We’re the same age! That’s cool!
Hi there a little update we went from a 50 watt heat lamp to a 100 watt basking halogen heat lamp hahaha I saw some comments about it being so close so I made sure to put it a ruler away from her
Has anyone seen this before? Something in the corner of his mouth
