We just got a 48x24x15 CDPVC tank. (Equivalent to 90 gallons) downside is it was for a snake previously so the top is solid, no holes for lights or anything. (We have two domes with the basking bulb and our uv bulb) We don't want to cut holes in the tank, if we don't have it. It was originally 400$ tank. We tried going to home depot to get some metal mesh to just adhere it to the tank after taking the top off and putting some wooden slats on top to make it more sturdy and allow the domes to sit on it. (We realized the wood may burn so I bought light stands that will be here Wednesday) but we just couldn't get the mesh to not dip in the middle of the tank, we just couldn't get it tight enough. What's a cheap way to make a top that prevents our Toothless from escaping and won't burn from our lights.? Nothing fancy, i just feel like we're oversimplifying this whole mesh thing or something. Or if someone has a better idea. Photo of the tank with the original lid and my fat boy for attention.
