Hey! I've been doing a lot of research on bearded dragons, I really want to get into taking care of one, and I want to make sure it will be 100% happy if I am inviting it into my home. It's not worth adopting a pet if you're just going to make their life miserable, you know?

Anyways, my room is very tiny. Basically 10'*10'. To get to the point, I would be able to fit a 4'x2'x2' (120 gallon) in my room, but only if it was blocking the closet. A 3'x2'x2' (90 gallon), however, would fit snugly between my bed and my desk. I know it's less than recommended for a full size adult, so would it be acceptable? I wouldn't have a problem with letting it out daily, so is a smaller tank okay or do I need to block off my closet?

At full grown they will be 18 to 24 inches long, 36 inches if habitat is not much real-estate.

I love that you are doing your research beforehand. The size is just the start...
I will say this is the most rewarding experience.

Thank you! I don't wanna just blindly hop into responsibility of a new animal without being informed, unfortunately unlike so many other people. These little guys look ADORABLE, and I'm really excited to take care of one.

Thanks! It's actually a pretty huge relief to hear that, I was worried I would need to go on a closet cleaning spree sometime soon lol. In the future when I have the space I'll probably be upgrading the size by quite a bit. And thank you for the offer with the lights! I would love help with that, I don't wanna mess up the most important part.

Basking surface temps should be taken w/ a digital probe thermometer you will need two of them for a baby you want temps 105-110 for a juvie/ adult dragon 95-100
Zoo Med Digital Thermometer You can also find these at Pet Smart or Petco - cheaper on the internet
24" fixture this will come w/ a 5.0 bulb keep it for a back up - it has different placement and distance tho from the bulb you need to get Zoo Med ReptiSun T5 HO High Output Terrarium Hood
22" bulb Zoo Med ReptiSun 10.0 UVB T5 HO or you can get this at Pet Smart they are now carrying these as well 24" Arcadia ProT5 12% UVB Bulb With Hood you want the 12% bulb
you will need a digital probe hygrometer like this Exo Terra Digital Hygrometer | Dubia.com
Basking bulb needs be be a solid clear bright white bulb some examples are these
Exo Terra Intense I would I would start w/ a 100 watt just make sure you have the digital probe thermometers so you can get actual surface basking temps --https://www.petmountain.com/product/exo-terra-intense-basking-spot-lamp?variant=8233
Flukers Flukers Basking Bulb Incandescent Reptile Light
Zoo Med Repti basking bulb Zoo Med Repti Basking Spot Lamp with UVA
or a Arcadia Halogen Arcadia Halogen Basking Spotlight ( 50w / 75w / 100w )
I am using the Flukers right now and they seem to hold up pretty good
Your UVB will need to be placed for your tank w/ placement and distance and that is going to be determined by your screen on the tank --
No colored bulbs for heat at night please -- get a ceramic heat emitter - we can help w/ that - it will need a dome w/ a ceramic socket like your basking bulb - temps at night in the tank should be 65-75 ambient -- you dont want to use off white basking bulbs or yellowish or any kind w/ a neodymium coating - bad for the eyes -- as well as the colored bulbs -
Here is a good bowl for salads and insects especially BSFL also known as nutri grubs / phoenix worms / calci worms https://www.amazon.com/MACGOAL-Rept...uGQB&pd_rd_wg=tLkwE&ref_=pd_gw_ci_mcx_mr_hp_d
Its better to get your insects/ worms on line they are cheaper to get and pet stores in the winter time can be very unreliable -- a few winters ago people were really stuck w/ pet stores out of crickets etc
My advice is to get him/ her on dubia roaches for a staple feeder w/ some BSFL as a compliment to the diet -- if you need websites for these or more help please ask - your staple insect should be dusted w/ calcium D3 and a vitamin w/ beta carotene -- we can all help w/ that just ask along w/ diet / salads etc
