Okay I had a scare a while back but I'm actually 100% terrified right now. I have no clue when this happened since I've only been back for a week (I was finish up school so Milo was home with my parents). I just noticed it today when taking him out. He's been hiding in his hide/brumating these past 8 weeks so I honestly have no clue when this occurred. But he seems to have a blackish patch on his beard that isn't just coloring. It's not going away, so it's something obviously topical. I'm not sure if this is a retained shed or possibly yellow fungus. I've never dealt with it before so I don't know how to diagnose it properly.
What do you guys think? I need some serious help here. If I have to take him to the vet, I will, but money is currently a little tight for me. Obviously I'll take him if he needs but I don't want to panic yet and take him for something that is just a shedding problem or something. Please help, I just got home to my little boy and he's already scaring me!
Hi there....hopefully not Y.F. Have you tried soaking him, then using a soft toothbrush to see if it will come off ? It may just be some dried food or poo that he laid in. So try cleaning him first, then pat him dry + put him back in the warm tank.

Okay, I'm beyond stupid. I had scrubbed at it the night before with no luck so that's I panicked and came here. Turns out, you're right. It was poop that little brat had ran in! It took a toothbrush scrubbing and some baby shampoo to get it off. He now smells like strawberries.
Sorry, I tend to panic easily with him. Thank you for your help, he's now poop free.
You're welcome. Sometimes a stain needs a little more soaking or scrubbing. The toothbrush is usually pretty effective when you just stroke downward, the way the scales go and keep wetting it until it just rinses right off.
I'm glad it all came out and you now have a squeaky clean beardie !
