Here are a couple of pics of his new viv. These are just the outer shell basically. It is loosely based off the crossfire design but i didnt want any of the vents so i changed how it was vented. I used 1 sheet of maple woodgrain melamine for the whole thing.
The tank is done now and I'll take some finished pics tonight. He is much much happier in here. He has been so bright since sunday morning when he officially went in his new home. There is a ton more room, both vertically and floor space. He gained about 2sq.ft of additional floor space and 8 inches of vertical height. Also since it is melamine, there is no more glass reflection for him to get stressed out by.
Very nice! Did you happen to use acrylic or glass for the ft doors? I just put Buddy in a new, larger viv, also made from melamine, and he still manages to get really black bearded when he sits and stares at his reflection in the acrylic doors. Since I'm new to this, is his black bearding really stress? I know the marks on his under belly are, which actually seem to have disappeared at this point. Again, nice viv! Any completed pics??
i completely forgot about the completed pics! I used acrylic because i have tons of it laying around the shop at any given time. Really, not matter what you use, your little guy will see his reflection in the doors. The only thing that i can think of off the top of my head to combat this would be to make some doors from screen or cover the glass with screen on the inside.
