Eggs?

I came home today to 5 eggs in the tank of what I thought was my 2 year old MALE. I made her a dig box which she is currently in lying more. It is normal for them to lay infertile eggs? This explains why she hasn't been eating and glass dancing like a fool. But is there any reason for concern?

Hello,

There shouldn't be any reason to be worried, unless she begins to act restless, blackbearding, lethargic, etc which could mean some issues.
This is normal for females to lay infertile eggs. How many has she laid so far now?

Probably close to 15. She covered them with the sand and has been sitting ontop of them since last night. When do I remove the dig box? And do I have to worry about her getting sad because there's no babies? I'm new to this part of beardie life

I took my female to the vet yesterday to see if he could determine if mine was going to lay and for a checkup... I asked the same thing about when to remove the infertile eggs as I've read here to dispose of them after a couple of hours and he told me NOT to take them away for a few weeks since removing them right after they're laid could trigger another immediate cycling and clutch. I trust my vet as he's the certified herp vet in this area and will follow his guide lines although you may hear different from someone here. Just make sure you replenish your beardie with her calcium as the cycling uses up tons as well as a nice warm soak.
