I was on vacation for a month and on the last week my beardie sitter only came in every 2-3 days.when I got back my beardies were pooping every day, now their not. They are still pooping but not every day. I know that my beadie sitter was not taking them baths and handling them because it was a very brief thing, I even found mustard greens around the tank and believe they were not taken out out the tank for crickets (they have sand). I guess what my question is should they be fed every other day instead of every day? They are all a year old, are about 18 inches long (is that a little short for their age?), and are eating 14 crickets a day plus a big salad in the morning with mealies, and crunchy beardie food (adult size). They also get a bowl of the crunchy beardie food, about 10 or more mealies, and 1-2 soft beardie treats.

Thanks!

Are you saying that you have 3 beardies in the same tank? On sand? And you left them for a month?

no they each have their own tank. and they are on sand but never eat inside the tank. and no, they had a beardie sitter the whole I was gone, she was actually staying at my house except for the last week. the last week she was coming in to take care of the beardies every two days.

Okay, sorry for the questions. I was worried about that stuff. I think at a year old they are starting to slow down, so pooping less shouldn't be much of an issue as long as they are still doing it. They should still be getting a salad every day, and you could still give them the pellets every day. You may want to start feeding them less crickets and meal worms because of their age, but I'm not sure. I think that they can still be eating them every day for another couple months. Ftom what I've seen, those sizes look pretty good, average. Again, sorry about the questions.

Well, they could yes be slowing dow on the pooping, but if they ate on sand and were fed meal worms (which cause impactions) then they could have an impaction, so just watch that. Better worms for beardies are pheonix, silk, butter, or supers (since your beardies are over 16" long) and they should have salads every day.

OK, thanks I'll have to get some supers (unfortunately there the only other worms available to me) But is it true you have to smash their heads?

I miss you so much, Amaris 💔
What is a quick way to warm up a cold beardie? His heating element went out overnight and now he's very cold.

Clapton is acclimating okay I think. He's quick as lightning so I'm not sure how much I should bring him out of his house yet. He's not at all interested in his salad though. I wonder if I should change what I'm giving him. Least he's eating his crickets.

Things to do:
Buy calcium powder
Material to raise surface for basking spot
Scenery decals for back of tank
