Hi! I am new here but I have been reading and learning from you all for a while. My 5-year-old beardie, Fauntine, seems to have a bit more membrane in her ears lately ??? for lack of a better way to describe it.
I've had her for those entire 5 years and I have not noticed her ears ever looking like this before, so I am worried that it is an infection and not just a shed.
She does not have loose substrate so I don't think there is any debris in there and her head stays above the water (besides her mouth) at all times in the bath.
Here are some pictures, but if they aren't clear enough I can try to get better ones.
That is certainly a little different looking. I don't think there is any infection going on there,
is she acting ill at all?
It could be some dry retained skin perhaps, but not sure. Does it seem to bother her at all?
She is acting totally normal - eating, drinking, and climbing. No head tilting like she's lopsided or anything of that sort. And she looks at me and my boyfriend if one of us talks to her or accidentally makes a loud noise while she's out of her tank.
The normal behavior with the weird appearance is why I'm at a loss for what's going on.
