My dubias from twobeardieguy aren't breeding. I don't blame him and I didn't ask him because I wanted everyone's opinion.
So yea. I had 200 but they were eaten. I'm now down to three babies and 11 adults. They are 8 females and 3 males. They haven't been breeding a lot so how can I help them. They have a night light bulb, fed dubia chow, and are in a dark container. The heat from the bulb makes it a bit warmer. The humidity is also low. I try to mist them but it doesn't work.
Any other questions or that kind of stuffs? Thank you and please help.
How long have you had them? They are slow to breed. You would need to give it several months, and probably more like 6 months to have enough to feed your dragon since you only have a few adults. Also if there is any light from that bulb, that may be bothering them. Your temps need to be in the mid-90s to encourage them to breed. Oranges can help jump-start them too.
I gotta ask why you only got 8 female and 3 male for breeding for 2 Bearded dragons, you need at least 60-80 females and around 20-30 males and 3-4 months before even feeding them... If you are gonna stay with trying to breed the dubia I highly recommend getting a lot more adults plus another 1000 more for feeders that should hold you over for 2-3 weeks
My roaches just had babies which is pretty good I guess. It seems like there's about maybe 30 babies. On Monday there was around three babies. They are breeding. I did order some crickets so my beardies do have food.
We got about 500 roaches initially and have been feeding them sparingly to our dragons. We keep oursIin a 20 gallon tank with a glass cover over the top, egg crates, an undertank heater which keeps it plenty warm, and I use oatmeal as a substrate. Our dubias are having babies like crazy, and I mist the sides and each layer of egg crate about 3 times a day. Hopefully that will help some?
