Anyone know of any reason not to feed pumpkin meat to dubia's?
I have not been to the store with it being the holiday weekend and have ran out of oranges. So as usual I used apple, and then a nice size piece of pumpkin meat. I have about 6 pie pumpkins my girls brought hom. However I don't want to feed it to them if for some reason it's a No No.
Thanks
Scott
Good ?, I should have been more clear. It's fresh, I just cut into it a hour ago. And I have plenty others so if it's good/ok to feed it to them then I will hold onto them and not trash them.
http://www.beautifuldragons.com/Nutrition.html this website will help you to figure out the best things to feed your beardie. If you use foxfire or opera internet accesses, you will see it color coded. The pumpkin is in the black and it is a feed occasionally food.
That is a great site, I use it all the time for my Dragons.
However I was asking if it was ok to feed fresh pumpkin meat to my Dubias.
That for looking though
I'm sure it would be o.k. but I'd probably feed them more of what it's better to feed your beardie with. I'm sorry I misunderstood what you asked, it's been a long week and I wasn't feeling super good.
Pumpkin isn't that bad...as long as yuo mix it with other veggies because of its calcium to phosphorous isn't ideal. But if you supplement with a pinch of calcium and multivitamin like the chart on beautifuldragon, it should balance it out. That's why there is a couple of extra days with calcium alone with no multivitamin...because they should eat get more of the calcium than the phosphorous. Most of the food they eat contain a lot of the phosphorous, especailly the insect preys and the greens, and so does the multivitamin, so you want to supplement more calcium.
