Yesterday I posted a question to the forum about keeping a dubia colony without electricity, but I've rethought my plan and I'm needing help.
I've decided to try to hold my Dubia roach colony outside on my balcony. Does anyone else keep their's outside and if so we're the roaches able to reproduce? Is there anyway to prevent them from getting wet when it rains?
I still plan on heating them with a Zoo Med heating pad and doing everything I would do if it was held inside. I was just wondering if this would work.
Any response would be helpful. Thank you guys.
Hi, how hot are the temps outside on the balcony? Personally, I don't keep mine outside. But I see no problem in it, as long as you have a lid to keep out any other insects from getting in there and ruining your colony. The humidity should be at a good level too, not sure exactly what percent. But as long as the temps are 85 degrees then they should breed. You mentioned rain, are they just sitting outside with no roofing above them other than the lid?
