If have finished sterilizing a nice big piece of driftwood that my Beardie who is 22" long absolutely loves so far. The one problem is a large hole in it that crickets are hiding in. It isn't big enough fro Fred to get in an catch these crickets. What can I use to fill it in with if it gets to irritating or unsanitary? It is a large enough hole to put two thumbs in the opening and then it tapers down like a miniature cave.
Maybe you could just fill it with wood glue? I'm actually having a similar problem and have been trying to think of a solution. I might try silicon or some kind of sealant, but I'm not really sure.
I really want to just leave the wood natural so no paint. I think maybe fill the hole with wood glue and styrofoam. Then silicone or glue the entrance.
Maybe even gluing just a piece of leftover screen may work. I don't know hose well that would hold though.
That is a good idea. Do you think it will work on a large hole? Like I said it can fit two thumbs at the opening. I have used that method on smaller repairs and it worked great.
