Hi
Can anyone help?
I have a bearded dragon around 15 to 18 months old. Everything has been fine up until a couple of days ago when he started to beard all the time and head bob (something he has never done before). The disterbing thing is I have now seen him have what looks like a fit several times with large amounts of twitching and he leaves the ground.
He is housed in a 4' x 2' x 2' tank with a spot at one end and a uv tube along the top.
He eats locusts, waxworms, mealworms and greens along with other veg all dusted every other feed. The tank is sprayed every day. He is on tile.
We did some DIY in the room he is in recently but the windows were open at all times.

Please forgive me if I am mistaken, but to me it sounds like your little (big) man is feeling his oats, so to speak. The head-bobbing and blackbearding are a sign of dominance and the "twitching and leaving the ground" as you mentioned is actually stomping which usually occurs when another male is in the vicinity or he spots a female (associated with wanting to mate).
He is fine, just doing what "teenage" boy beardies do.
i would suggest letting him run around for a while in a beardie proof bedroom to get out some of his big boy energy. This is what I do with my Mikey daily, or else he has a beardie fit and turns black/refuses to eat/head bobs like a crazy man
