Personally I'd cut down the branch a little so it was at less of an angle, then have it so he could either sit on that or on another basking spot near it, just to give him a bit more basking room to be able to totally flatten out his body. I'd also put in a hide/something to sit on in the cool end.
Is the UV right over to the right of the tank? If so I'd move it left a little so it's still about 6 inches from his basking spot, but so it also covers lower down the tank too so he gets UV if he's chilling out in the middle too. It looks like he can get within a couple of inches of it when he's right at the top of the branch, which is a bit too close really, but if you cut the branch a bit smaller so it sits lower at that end, and move the UV a bit, it should get him the right distance from it.

The basking spot is 102 and the cool side is 75. She probably spends 80% of the day on her branch by the probe and the other 20% on top of the hide on the warm side.
I saw a thread here about making rocks from styrofoam, I think Im going to make her some hides from that.
