Does anyone know what happens to pet store beardies if no one buys them?

I mean, if they get big enough (juveniles and above)? Im talking the big box stores like Petco, Petsmart, etc. Ive never seen one there larger than a baby...do they all get bought eventually as babies? Or go home with an employee? Or to a rescue? Really curious.

Oh really? That's really sad. Where I am I've been told you can get in huge trouble for selling anything under 8 weeks old. That is just sad and not only that but they don't give out correct information which makes it even worse

I bought my Rocky and he wasn't a baby. He was by himself waiting for me. After doing research, I knew i didn't want a baby but in hindsight I didn't know I bought who others didn't want. Rocky was my best decision as everyone knows.

I share this to say that while we aren't as popular as those that want the babies, we exist lol

Rocky was too big for his cage at the store and when he's bad, I take him to visit it but it doesn't phase him at all. Lol

I'm not sure quality of life quite sums it up, Rocky just might be the most spoiled dragon that ever lived

Ideally they should be. They need to be old enough to hunt effectively and to know they won't fail to thrive. They also should be big enough to eat the insects available at the store selling them (imho)

That. And old enough to be able to go a few days without food when experiencing relocation stress.
