Poor little guy. Looks like he's in pretty rough shape. He will probably need some visits to a good herp vet and will definitely need to have a top notch setup. If you are able to provide for him, then I'd say it's absolutely worth trying. I'm not sure if you can turn everything around but he deserves a loving family and to have as comfortable and happy a life as possible.
Poor thing, he could make it through the ordeal. Have you just brought him home or are you considering him?
How old is he, do you know, estimated?
I agree, he would need some good supplementation to help out, a vet visit would be a good idea & a UVB light. The Reptisun T5 High output tube bulb would or the Arcadia D3 T5 High output either one.
Hi guys, thanks for thr replies. I was thinking of adopting him, the owner had no idea, and though I have had beardies before, I never had one with mbd. Someone else that saw the problem contacted the owner. I am kind of relieved cause he doesn't look like he was going to make it to me. I hope the best for him and will continue my search for a beardie.
Poor guy! I hope he finds a good home. It is rough taking one in with a health issue I know.
A lot of it depends on the severity, genetics, etc. Some do make while others don't.
Thanks Tracie I adopted a different beardie yesterday, I am very happy with him. Not sure on his age (going to post some pictures of him, see if anyone would know), but he's healthy and friendly.
That is great you adopted another one yesterday. I hope he does well for you, too.
I will move this thread to Health so you can post pictures when you get a chance, or if you need more help with your set up let us know also.
