Hi everyone!

Just curious but do your dragons get super sleepy during shedding? Drogon is currently shedding on his back and belly. He's not into eating much, is avoiding basking for long periods of time, and everytime I take him out, he keeps falling asleep on my chest.

I've also noticed it takes about 3 weeks before a patch develops before finally shedding weeks later. Is this all normal?

Yup, as he gets older it can take even longer to shed also. As far as sleeping most of mine are just lazy and will doze anytime they are out with us lol. With the exception of Sweet Pea and Snickers. Until bed time they are both holy terrors lol.

Thanks for the quick reply! Yeah he turns four in a few months so he's not new to this!

Doing bath time now and my neck just got ripped up 🤣

Hello,

They definitely have a tendency to slow down & get lazy when they shed. As they get older, it seems
to take longer for them to shed than when they were younger.

Is avoiding basking normal too? His temps are within normal parameters but he just wants to hang in cool areas

What is the temp in his basking, maybe try lowering the temp a little.

Yeah I'm gonna pick up a 75 watt bulb. I have a 100 and it gets up to 105 in basking at times

Hi everyone

I've noticed that during drogons shedding, he's been lying in the sand like this. I'm kinda worried. Do you think this is just shedding behavior or something else?

He looks like he is just really relaxed.

Oh okay :) Ever since I did a tank upgrade, he seems to really love laying in the sand xD In all seriousness, this year's shed seems to be stressing him out, poor baby.

I can see in the pic that the shed us patchy, once they start shedding like that it seems like it's never ending, if we were loosing random patches of skin all over we would probably be stressed to lol 😆

I miss you so much, Amaris 💔
What is a quick way to warm up a cold beardie? His heating element went out overnight and now he's very cold.

i feel so sad reading your about me 😢
Clapton is acclimating okay I think. He's quick as lightning so I'm not sure how much I should bring him out of his house yet. He's not at all interested in his salad though. I wonder if I should change what I'm giving him. Least he's eating his crickets.

Things to do:
Buy calcium powder
Material to raise surface for basking spot
Scenery decals for back of tank
