just wondering if i have a good diet for my dragon. I feed him 5 crix and spinach every day. Also, we wash the spinach. DO you think that's enough water?
THx
spanich is not good for beardies at all; it binds calciums so they can't use it. you should be feeding your beardie greens like collard greens, dandelion greens, and mustard greens. also, five crickets a day is probably not enough; you should feed them as many crickets they will eat in 10-15 mins, and multiple times a day depending on how old they are.
ohazombie is right... and you should make sure that the crickets aren't bigger than the space b/t his eyes.. 5 Crickets is definitely not enough.. And if you are worried about hydration you can give your beardie a bath every other day.. The water should b warm like for an infants bath and should only come up to the chest.. You can let them soak for about 10 minutes but make sure you don't leave them unattended.. Here's a link to a really good nutritional website.. http://www.beautifuldragons.com/Nutrition.html
Yea depending on his size and give crickets about the width of his eyes, but mine eat about 15-20 cickets a day, they are close to 4 months and a collard greens or mustards, and a worm or two. Mine love really thin cut butternut squash as well. try some Dubia Roaches they love em!
I've had no problems with crickets from the bait shop. I gut load em before feeding. Got 200 today. I would rather feed them roaches but have to wait til my colony is bigger. I need to order more soon
http://www.expresscrickets.com is pretty cheap; about $23 for one thousand crickets of any size shipped next day air. expect scary spiders if you order from them, though. D:
