Hi there,
My beardie, Zed, has been doing ever so well since I got him and he is now 4 months old. He is eating well (hoppers, crickets and his veggies) and his basking temperatures are between 35 and 40°C.
However, I am concerned as I have noticed that lately his poop has been a little runny. I've only noticed this for about a week and have been monitoring his behavior but he still seems to be the same 'happy' lad: eating well, bright eyes etc. Another thing that I observed was that he would poop twice a day: one light coloured and runny, the other of usual consistency. He was wormed at the beginning of the month and is regularly cleaned so I do not thing parasites could be the cause of the problem...
Does anyone have any suggestions? (He has also been shedding - just his back left now! - so could this be a reason why?)
Thanks!
How is your boy doing tonight?
It doesn't sound like it is parasites. Have you gotten another fecal done? Since he was dewormed, it might be a good idea to double check & get another fecal to make sure the levels are down.
What type & brand of UVB do you use? Is it a tube bulb or a compact/coil light?
Shedding can cause a little bit of stress & disturb their appetite, too.
What type of thermometer do you use to measure the temperatures with?
Let us know how Zed is doing.
He is fine today, no diarrhoea which is good to see. He didn't have worms in the first place, his vet just advised me to keep him wormed to prevent getting them.
He has a ReptiSun 10.0 UVB light (one of those long, tube shaped ones) and his heat is monitored by an electronic thermostat.
As I said before, his poop seems more or less normal today... I think maybe he just had an upset stomach or something, hopefully he will be fine now
Thanks for replying

That is good news Zed is feeling better today.
They can get an upset tummy sometimes & it will affect their GI tract. Hopefully he is all back to normal.
