Hey guys, i came home about 1 hour ago and notcied my beardie stiggy had a black beard. Ive never seen her do it before so i rushed over, picked her up and noticed she was all limp. I put the bath on and as soon as she went in the water she pooped straight away, normall poop too. So i picked her back out and still she is real limp, wont eat wont move hardly opens her eyes if at all.
I put her again back in the bath massaged her belly and she pooped a bit more, she then got a bit lively but when i pick her up again she goes back to being limp.
A couple of days ago she laid a clutch of eggs, and ive changed her substrate to some snake wood shavings type stuff dont know if these have anything to do with it. Im wondering if she has impacted gut not sure. Please help im taking her to the vet tmoz but not sure if she will make it
Its good your getting her to the vet, i think that is the best possible thing. I would remove the substrate, any particale is bad for beardies, stick to tile or towels. I dont think there is much you can do until the vet opens tommorrow, she may have a few eggs left inside, is she straining at all??
Have them take an xray to see whats going on, and if she poops again in the morning take that too!
Well shes pooped another 2 times now, but still very limp. Wakes up a bit for like a minute then goes back to being very limp very tired looking. She has had some water which i dropped onto her nose and she had some. I dont understand with the eggs as it was over a week ago. Hope she will be okay overnight, thanks for the comment tho, vet it is tmoz
gasping makes me think a respiratory infection but yet her pooping this much makes me think she is straining and making poops come out alot because shes trying to get some thing else out so i think she has eggs that got stuck or dont want to come out like everyone says on here beardies hide when they dont feel good very well until its pretty serious , so im happy you have a vet appointment tomorrow and i hope she makes it thru the night.. best wishes
kt and max
Just like to say my beardie never made it through the night. She took her last breath around 10pm last night. Really cant believe it, she was fine when i left for work and in the space of 8 hours she was fighting for her life. Thanks for the help at trying to get her better. Dan
