My bearded dragon that I just got last week has a little nub going up from the end of its tail, and My friend told me it was a calcium and vitamin D3 deficiency, is that correct? What really is the reason he has this? Or is it just a deformity?
It looks like the very end of the tail may have had a nip early on. Doesn't look like anything to worry about, though. Do the normal recomended supplementation. :0)
I agree, most likely a little nip or pinch when younger. The tail can deform (kink and twist) as one of the symptoms of metabolic bone disease which is from a lack of calcium being absorbed. But if you have proper lighting and feeding s proper diet, you really dont need to worry too much about MBD
Ok it’s good to hear that it most likely won’t be a issue, as I have follow the guide from such as this site, but if anyone wants to see his tank just to make sure, that’ll be fine! And good to hear that it’s not anything severe!
P.S: I put calcium powder on his mealworms, so he should be recovering from I guess being held at Petco (they’ve got a lil track record for not taking the best care of their animals)
