Hey everyone! I recently learned about yellow fungus and of course I freaked out and was wondering if my beardie could have it. I took a peak at her stomach and this is what it looks like. As you can see, there appears to be some scales that look darker than the others. I can’t say that this specific dark patch has always been there, but I do recall in the past thinking that her stomach was not completely one color. I’m really hoping this is either her natural coloring or shed related. She was just at the vet last week and he didn't say anything so I’m hoping he didn’t think it was concerning. Still, I would love to hear your thoughts. Thanks in advance!
I am pretty sure that discoloration on her belly is just some scales/skin getting ready to
shed soon. How long has it been there?
This is a pretty normal coloring of scales that are preshed.
You can give a daily bath to help with any unshed portions of his skin. It will eventually
shed off.
Thank you both! My husband also thinks it's shed. She shed a few months ago but I can't remember if she shed everywhere on her belly. I'm not sure how long the darker area has been there but I will continue to monitor it just in case. We have been giving her daily baths so hopefully it will help it come off soon!
I'm so sorry for being so annoying and bothering everyone again, but I took a better pic of Liz's belly during the daytime. I'm worried because the darker scales do seem to have a yellow tint to them, and I'm not sure if yellow fungus is something I should be concerned about. Under the darker lighting it didn't look as yellow.
Also, I notice that it shows up a bit more yellow on my phone than it does in the pic posted here. The yellowish scales seem to be in a line pattern.
Here is a pic of her vent since I know yellow fungus often starts around the vent: (side note, my husband was pulling her tail up a bit as I took the picture from underneath her, is it normal for her vent to look like that?)
The belly scales look OK to me but the vent looks a bit odd. Maybe a soak in a warm bath with a little bit of mild soap (dr bronner baby mild works well) and see if that starts to look a bit less dark/crusty. May just be dirty. If you don't see it look cleaner then you may want a vet to check it out in case it's tissue damage.

OK thank you!! I wasn't sure if that was just because my husband was holding her tail up. I took another pic just now with flash. My husband says she's always had that but I really don't know. I do feel like I remember seeing her vent look like that awhile ago but I cant be sure. By tissue damage do you mean from a fungus possibly?
Here's a close up of her vent since the picture quality isn't great:
OK the last photo looks fine. She may have just strained a bit which happens. By tissue I meant intestinal prolapse which happens to them occasionally. If it retracted on its own, it shouldn't be a problem.

Ahh ok, thank you! Yes now the vent is closed, but it was open a bit before where you could see some white/grey tissue inside. Do you know it's still worth taking her to the vent? I'm assuming she might just need to poop since it's been a few days (though that's normal for her--she doesn't go every day). I'm glad to hear it doesn't seen like I should be worrying about YF.
Btw, I'm sorry if I come off as neurotic! I just love her so much and I worry about her constantly. I really appreciate all your help and the help of everyone on these forums. I seriously think I've gotten better info here than some reptile specialists I've taken her to!
Just drip some water on her nose so she can lick it to drink and offer hydrating foods like squash which should help reduce strain for her. A vet probably isn't needed.
