Does anyone know if there is a way to keep dandelions longer than the growing season? The ones around where I live are now going to seed and the yellow flowers are getting harder to find. Is there a way to keep them longer -- I havent found anything like that in the grocery stores -- I am thinking of more of a specialty food store in order to get them-- any help would be nice --
You could grow your own. I personally dont know anything about growing dandelions but its probably alot cleaner then harvesting them from the ground where animals can pee & poop near by and pesticides and what not. Then that way you can keep your own little stash of flowers.
I see the greens seasonally in the grocery stores but they vary in freshness and they don't tend to last as long as collards or turnip greens do even when stored in ziploc bags with paper towel. Growing your own is certainly an option too but they would still be a seasonal item. They'd probably do well in a controlled patch of yard or a raised bed garden.
