So my wife went to a pet store today to get a Reptisun 10.0 spent over 30 bux for a coil light because thats what they said she needed. Im furious. I had told her to get a tube light, and they talked her into a "self ballisted compact flourescent UVB lamp for all desert dwelling reptiles". From my readings on this forum... this is wrong?
How could pet stores that sell bearded dragons, steer someone the wrong way? All she needed was a bulb that would give our beardies the proper UVA-UVB. Do I have the right to be mad? Or is it going to work for what we need it for? Its not really a coil light, more of a light that is made up of "U"s.
I swear if I go back there im going to screw the bulb into the dudes ear if he turned my wife onto the wrong bulb......
I'm sorry. You do need the tube. I understand your frustration with the ignorance of pet store employees. The best place for the bulb you need, which are usually hard to find locally, is http://petmountain.com/
I wouldn't use it, you were right to want the linear tube vs the CFL.
Pet store associates are told what to sell, as they often times don't know. They are told what to say and they cannot say things like "I don't know" due to the professional atmosphere they are told to provide.
You typically won't find the Reptisun 10.0 in a pet store but, rather a pet shop or online like Esther mentioned.
